iPoint is an enterprise ready portal built using enterprise strength technologies. iPoint utilises the power of J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) the industry leading standard for building large scalable web applications. iPoint is built on open standards and can run on any of the standard operating systems and hardware in use in businesses today.

Architecture

iPoint is built using a three tier architecture for maximum performance, availability and scalability. The iPoint application runs within any J2EE compliant application server. All the iPoint information is stored in a Relational Database and any standard web browser can access and update iPoint over the Internet.

iPoint is deployed as a standard JEE war file and uses Hibernate as its database access layer and so should support any database that Hibernate supports.

Deployment Options

Due to iPoint’s flexible architecture, iPoint can be deployed very flexibly to support your availability, performance and scalability requirements.

· Single Server - Application server and database on a single host.
· Two Server - Application Server and database server on separate hosts.
· Four Server - Web Proxy Host, Application server clustered across two hosts and a single database.
