TERRACOTTA

Terracotta is a unique product that clusters your Java Virtual machine to create a shared memory pool and cross JVM coordination service for your application tier. It removes bottlenecks and allows you to run your application on as many servers as needed without the expense of custom code or databases. Working at the JVM level, Terracotta removes the need to pollute your code with proprietary apis, relying purely on JVM level byte code instrumentation and standard synchronisation to achieve transparent application clustering.

C2B2 and Terracotta

Many of C2B2’s customers deploy large scale JEE solutions and have demanding non-functional requirements for, performance, scalability and availability. We realised that Terracotta’s JVM level clustering could deliver on those non-functionals and C2B2 partnered with Terracotta in November 2007. Terracotta’s ease of use and support for industry standard application servers and open source solutions enables us to plug Terracotta under existing applications with little or no fuss, immediately enhancing their capabilities.
